COMMUNICATE BETTER RESULTS
You communicate every day of your life.
From infant’s first mewling cry to last will and testament
you have messages you want to get across.
Communicate better. Results.
And better communication gets results.
Better than what?
Better than the communication you are using right now.
What sort of communication?
To avoid any confusion this is not about whether you tweet your online presence or have linked in your facebook. In a world where ‘social media’ means sitting alone with a computer, or ignoring the person sat next to you while you develop texter’s thumb, we will leave the many practical and powerful applications of technology for debate elsewhere. Of course the communication channel you choose is important, but much more relevant is communication content. The medium can be part of the message, but it’s not the place to start.
So, back to the question. What sort of communication? Any. We process communication from others by using every sense at our disposal – some consciously, some subconsciously. The message we receive is the combined assimilation of those sensory inputs. Similarly, the message you send is a combination of what you say and do; how you say and do it; in part it is the medium you choose to deliver it; and it is also the context in which it is sent, delivered, received and interpreted.
And getting your message across matters.
Your important message could be a presentation to shareholders, an annual report or a five-year plan for your business. It could be a written document; or it could be just you, alone, on a platform, with an uncharted sea of expectant faces in front of you.
It is a marketing campaign that launches a new product or concept; or one that acquires, retains or regains customers - a structured combination of advertising, sales promotion and marketing communications activity.
It is how you communicate with peers, colleagues, clients, customers and friends - interaction on an individual, one-to-one or one-to-few basis. It is even how we communicate with ourselves as we make our own sense of the messages we receive, and decide how to react to the situations we find ourselves in.
Communicate. Better results.
And all communication has a purpose. Results matter.
What sort of results?
The results that you want: business targets; personal goals; life ambitions. Getting the result you want is all about getting the right message to the right people in the right way. Every time.
